I'm recovering from shoulder surgery. My left shoulder was injured from tennis (I teach a group of homeschoolers the basics) for a year without improvement from rest, ice, and physical therapy. An MRI showed a tear in the labrum, and my surgery was scheduled! I am 3 days post-op now and will be in a sling for 6 weeks, so I'm typing is half as fast as usual. =)
Here is a link to what I had done and here is my shoulder:
I have five small incisions which I'm guessing won't scar. My doctor was able to repair my tear & clean up the swelling in my shoulder. Though there is pain, I'm optimistic I'll be feeling a lot better in no time. I'm very thankful we have an extremely comfortable recliner, since that's where I've been sleeping and will continue to sleep for awhile.
If you are interested in surgical videos, this is the gist of what I had done.
Ouch - your shoulder looks sore, but hopefully, the worst is behind you. Maybe you'll get some sunshine soon - it's supposed to be 80 degrees on Monday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan! It does look like warmer weather is coming.
