"100% of the proceeds for this fundraising event is being collected by TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers), and will be distributed by check to the appropriate Moore Oklahoma School District Representative earmarked to specifically aid the teachers as they begin the process of rebuilding.

Each bundle is valued at well over $100.00, and will be made available for a $25.00 donation. These bundles will be available for a LIMITED TIME, beginning Friday, May 24 through Monday, June 3rd, 2013."

Check them out! There are some wonderful resources included here! The top two links are K-2 bundles; the bottom two are 3-6 bundles. Please support this wonderful cause! You may purchase as many of this bundles as you wish!

the best laid plans

Sometimes life just takes a different path than you thought it would. The other night my dh broke his leg and snapped a ligament playing hockey (maisonneuve fracture for those interested) - ouch! Of course this was less than 24 hours after I had told my doctor that my level of stress wasn't too bad, that I felt like I was handling all of my responsibilities pretty well. D'oh!

Needless to say, I will likely be blogging less as I take on added duties around the house and help him through his recovery as best I can. While this was an unfortunate accident, I am grateful I am able to take care of him and that many of our activities are winding down for the summer. It is also a fabulous learning experience for the kids to witness; we got to see a lot of x-rays at the doctor's office! Now I just need to get one of these:  :-)

butterflies!

We released our painted lady butterflies yesterday into our strawberry garden. I will add a post with our Life Cycle activities when I get a chance. Here is a glimpse!

Hope you are enjoying your May!

coffee filter flowers

I know this isn't new, and it's something many others have done way more beautifully than we have, but it is a fun craft for Mother's Day!

Yay flowers!
 What you need:
  • Coffee filters
  • Dye (we used Neon Colors in water-filled ice cube trays and dripped them on with medicine droppers)
  • Chenille stems, pipe cleaners, whatever you call them
Materials Needed
These dry really fast!
Once dry, put two or more in a stack and then pinch the bottom and add a stem.
They also make beautiful butterflies!

teacher appreciation sale

It's time for another huge site-wide TpT sale! My store and many others are participating in the sale; this is a great time to stock up for end of year resources or look ahead to next year!

Don't forget to use code TAD13!

Like this cute graphic? Check out Abby's "Wizard of Boz" blog and TpT Store! She has some really fun resources!

mondrian inspired art

We are just loving the Famous Artist Crafts for Kids over at The Crafty Classroom! This morning we followed step 2 of the Piet Mondrian craft. H & F cut out the shapes with the help of this awesome paper cutter that I recently purchased and wish I had gotten years ago! I drew the lines on with a black permanent marker. After making two as shown on The Crafty Classroom, I decided to do one at an angle. Why not? I think that was H's favorite and he loved the challenge of cutting some angled pieces!

In progress.
